TUGS: The Movie is a 2016 British-American children's movie based on the short-lived TV show, TUGS. It is about Ten Cents, Sunshine, Top Hat, and Big Mac going on an adventure to get enough money to save the Star Tugs from being sold.

After most of the models were found, HIT entertainment decided to remake TUGS. Due to some of the models being out of shape, new models were built. Voice actors from TUGS' sister show, Thomas The Tank Engine And Friends, as well as others.

- Rather than a continuation of the series, it is a reboot.
- The only characters who did not receive new models are Ten Cents, Sunshine, Top Hat, and Big Mac.
- Puffa has a face in the movie, making him look similar to a character from Thomas And Friends.
- Many TUGS cameos were made:
- A scrap tugboat in the breakers yard resembles Boomer/Sea Rogue's Uncle.
- The dredger that sunk because of the wind looked similar to Scuttlebutt Pete.
- The liner that nearly runs into Sunshine looks like Princess Alice.
- The tugs that tow in a liner look similar to the White Fleet.
- The tramper seen at the other dock looks similar to Kracka-Toa.
- Many elements are similar to TUGS episodes:
- Hercules being lifted out of the water after sinking is similar to how Boomer was being salvaged in "Jinxed".
- The scene where Izzy Gomez runs into the mud bank resembles the scene from "Warrior" where he ends up running into the rocks.
- The scene where Zorran purposely washed Sunshine onto the rocks resembles the scene from "High Winds" where Johnny Cuba washes the Coast Guard onto some rocks.
- The scene where Big Mac saves Warrior from nearly getting blown up by a mine resemble a scene from "Regatta/4th Of July" where the Star Tugs save Grampus from getting blown up by the navy.
- The scene where Puffa scares Zip and Zug resembles a scene from "Ghosts" when Top Hat is startled, but it turns out to be a steam train.
